THIS COURSE IS ONLY OPEN TO STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE SLS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.

The seminar introduces students to social innovation, the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and grassroots sustainability innovators, by using their own internship projects and host organizations as the key lens on these themes. In partnership with the Career Center, it also provides students with professional development and helps them use the internship experience to think critically about their life and career interests. Students meet as a large group on alternating weeks for learning and professional development, and then in small groups every other week for discussion and community-building. Large group meetings take place at partner sites and expose students to social innovation models beyond those of their internship hosts, helping them to make additional connections with Atlanta-based organizations that advance the SDGs.

This course may be counted towards an elective for the Sustainable Cities Minor.
