Dr. Kari Watkins uses technology and design to create a more livable and sustainable transportation system. She focuses on innovations that improve active transportation modes such as walking and biking and collective transportation modes such as transit and rideshare. Check out the open-source OneBusAway transit information apps, student lead non-profit MARTA Army, and the Cycle Atlanta program for some examples of her social innovation work.

Capstone Design is an interdisciplinary civil and environmental design experience. Students form teams of 3 – 5 people, and these teams function as “companies” that provide consulting services to a selected sponsor on a specific design project.
